Mear One x Barack Obama Poster

Los Angeles graffiti legend turned fine artist Mear One has partnered with Upper Playground and FIFTY24SF to produce a new Barack Obama poster.

Mear One’s Barack Obama poster is part of an ongoing series from Upper Playground of artist collaborations in support of Barack Obama's presidential campaign. Upper Playground has endorsed Obama's campaign by creating posters featuring artwork from The Date Farmers, MunkOne, Alex Pardee, Morning Breath, Mac, Sam Flores, and Ron English, in addition to printing T-shirts with Shepard Fairey's Obama graphics to help support the campaign.

There are 50 prints available that will be signed and numbered and each poster retails for $200. The limited-edition 18"X24" print is available exclusively online at Upper Playground.

All proceeds from the sales of the poster will go directly to creating more campaign t-shirts, posters, and stickers by other artists in support of Obama's bid for President.

Please note: each poster is a pre-sale item and will not ship until Monday, July 21, 2008.

Upper Playground x Oakland’s Youth UpRising Center x Too $hort

Upper Playground recently partnered with the non-profit Youth UpRising, a multi-service youth leadership development center in East Oakland, California. Iconic Oakland rapper Too $hort is a fixture at the center, and he mentors an artist development class for aspiring young MCs.

As a Bay Area based company and a strong supporter of the arts community, Upper Playground was honored to work with this organization that fosters creativity and entrepreneurship among young adults. Upper Playground provided apparel and photo services for the young adults to shoot publicity photos for their portfolios. Too $hort was on hand to represent as well.
