Work in Progress: David Ellis & Doze Get Ready for Their Show, "Rubicon Sun"
David Ellis and Doze Green are working around the clock to pull off one of the most bad-ass exhibits to ever hit SF. On December 13th, "Rubicon Sun", opens at Fifty24SF Gallery and will incorporate sculpture, motion painting, sound, illustration, and collage into an installation that will consume both Fifty24SF spaces. This show will also coincide with the release of their new book entitled, "Shaft". Don't miss this event!

Cry Me a River
It's sad but true: The Date Farmers and San shows have come to a close here at Fifty24SF Gallery. We had some good times putting these shows up and have enjoyed working amongst all of their amazing paintings. But even good things must come to an end. You can still see their workonline for another few days but after that, it's curtains for these boys.

We had some good times

Carpal Tunnel just for you
I am reporting live from the U.P. headquarters. Mr. Jeremy Fish is signing 300 of the new Superfishal board series as I type this. The only way to get these signed boards is to buy the whole set. There are 3 boards in each set. Each set goes for $210.00 bucks. Don't forget they are screen printed and made right here in the good old U.S.of A by Watson.
Don't give Mr. Fish Carpal Tunnel for nothing, buy these things. Did i mention they are collaboration boards.
Pushead, Bratrud, and Sieben teamed up with Fish on these ones.
Available in limited quantity online at upperplayground.com, And both U.P. Stores. Upper Playground SF, and Upper Playground Berkeley.

Think his hands hurt yet?

Signed sealed delivered

Skateboarding is not a crime
Skateboarding is not a crime. But not buying one of these boards, especially if you skate or collect art boards, should be. The Jeremy Fish collab boards are in and there are 3 different models to choose from. All of them are screen printed and made in the U.S. by Watson, which makes choosing just 1 way too difficult, so I suggest buying all 3. Without further ado, I present you with the Superfishal Skateboard series.

The art of Kris Kuksi
Kris Kuksi could easily be the master of mixed media. He uses "things" - pre-fabricated things, mass-produced things, kitschy or weird stuff, injection-molded or press-molded objects. Likened to Hieronymous Bosch or Lovecraft, Kuksi explores fear and the illusions created by the mind. See more on his website and check out the interview on Dark Roasted Blend.

A New Divinity
Mixed media is a very simplified term for what materials I use, but the list would be to long for this interview. I use "things". These things are pre-fabricated, injection-molded, press-molded, mass-produced, kitschy, weird stuff all brought together in a very articulated way that involves imagination, skill, math, craftsmanship, paint, and lastly, magic.

Os Gemeos pay homage to Fakso

Photographer Alex Fakso was honored when Brazilian artists, Os Gemeos featured a reproduction of one of Fasko's photos from his book, "Heavy Metal". The reproduction appeared on large canvas at their recent opening with Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milano, Italy. That's a pretty big honor in the art world.
Non-sequiter

For some reason, this picture reminds me of the moive, "Labyrinth". I can just see David Bowie riding this horse in some ruffly velvet jacket thing.
Mind the crack

Everyone is talking about Colombian artist, Doris Salcedo's installation at the Tate Modern. She created a 548 foot crack in the gallery's main entrance hall which, at it's deepest point, the crack measures 3 feet. The installation, entitled "Shibboleth" has already claimed several unsuspecting visitors.
