New illustrations by Mickey Duzyj

Mickey Duzyj is a working illustrator in New York whose material has been featured in The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and SPIN, among others. He sent us some images of illustrations for his latest projects. There's Self-Destruct, a collaboration between Mickey, 5BoroNYC, and No Mas on a series of skateboards featuring Mike Tyson and produced in a limited edition of 250 each. He also sent us his illustration, "Star Trek Convention", which was used for a Wired Magazine article about lonely Trekkie men. There's also a portrait of Trevor Berbick who lost his title to Mike Tyson back in '86 and who was murdered last year. Interesting subject matter for an art piece but understanding what motivates Mickey Duzyj's style and inspires his anachronistic point of view helps put it in perspective.
